Gratitude365- Surprise Visitor (KNM#67)

We had a wonderful surprise this weekend.  Richard, who is living in Boulder Colorado, showed up unannounced at the front door yesterday afternoon. He even took a cab from the airport to maximize the surprise factor. Needless to say, Michelle was in heaven to have Richard come and spend a few days with us. The surprise was extended to me. When I got home from work in the evening, I was instructed to walk into the home with my eyes closed. I was led to the room where Richard was waiting and had my own “wow” moment. I was in heaven as well.

Gratitude365- Afternoon Escape (KNM#66)

I had a lull in the office schedule this afternoon so I broke away for a short walk. The weather was beautiful and I really enjoyed clearing my mind. Took a few photos along the way.

Gratitude365- A Little Knowledge (KNM#65)

I don’t know a lot about irrigation (or as some people call it– irritation). But when the back yard started flooding this morning, I was able to remove the offending PVC pipe and get things back together. They say a little knowledge is dangerous but there is something to be said for self sufficiency, even if it just involves some of the minor things of life. Now the real test- will it hold? Time will tell if my ramblings are justified.

Gratitude365- Learning to See (KNM#64)

I find myself drawn to visual patterns. They are right in front of our eyes but we often don’t “see” them. Learning to see patterns is a process. The photo shows the pattern produced by the late afternoon light passing through the south door of our Green Valley office.

This idea applies to more than just our visual senses. As we experience life, we have the opportunity to learn to “see” things in a spiritual sense as well. The reality of spiritual things rings loud in my heart. This increasing realization is a lifetime process. I am grateful that tomorrow can bring more light and understanding even if the subtle daily changes are hard to perceive.

Gratitude365- Mystery Restaurant (KNM#63)

One of the highlights of my week is our Saturday sojourn with our children. I mentioned earlier that we gather together on Saturday night and go to dinner. We rotate the pick of restaurants. Last Saturday it was Michelle’s pick. We enjoyed it. From the photo, can you guess where we went?

I am grateful for my family and for our time together.
