I was suprised today by a nice birthday treat at the office. With Yamers leading the way, I was treated to a delicious birthday cake, a wonderful card signed by many of the staff, and a personal rendition of Happy Birthday by Jill, Brady, and Dr Rovit. It doesn’t get any better that that. Thank you!
Worried someone might steal the keys to the restroom? Do what this local establishment did. Attach the keys to a kitty litter scooper. Who would want to stuff that in their pocket? I am grateful to find a little humor in my daily routine.
A favorite of photographers is to find simple patterns. Even stronger is to have that simple pattern interrupted by by something much different from the pattern itself. I was happy to catch this image where the outlier was in strong contrast, in form and color and contrast, to the pattern of the glass stairs. Can you guess where this one was taken?
I noticed these clouds while driving home from church today. I am often intrigued by clouds. They are never the same and add a beautiful punctuation to our skies. I am grateful for a couple of moments to enjoy this nearby landscape.
Some years ago, President Benson gave a landmark talk on pride. He taught us that one of the expresions of pride is that we pit ourselves against others- we feel a need to prove ourselves superior. In our competitive world, pride abounds. I am thankful for the clear teachings of inspired and wise men that help us avoid the pitfalls that surround us. Ernest Hemingway also eloquently taught on this principle of pride.
