In our recent visit to Salt Lake, we stopped in the Joseph Smith builiding, the former location of Hotel Utah. It is a beautiful building, with many interesting details. Even the ceiling is beautiful as seen in this image of a chandelier descending below the stained glass.
Many family members and dear friends helped us honor David’s life at the funeral Friday. Many others supported us from afar through their prayers and faith. I am grateful for our “extended reunion” this weekend.
This weekend we visited the gravesite of Marian, Michelle’s mother. She is a remarkable lady and has had an important role in shaping the lives of our family, before and after her death. I know her influence will continue to bless us.
Friday night we went to City Center and to Temple Square in Salt Lake City. The scenes were vibrant and the lights and fountains were beautiful. I am grateful to have these experiences with my family.
We had a beautiful weekend through the experiences of David’s funeral and other related events. God blessed us in abundance with additional peace and understanding. Feeling the love of God and the love of friends and family was a blessing that permeated our hearts. I am thankful for these experiences and for the additional confidence I have been given about God’s great plan of happiness that transcends this mortal life.
