It is an exciting time for the growth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In October, President Monson announced that the age of eligibility for missionaries was reduced to 18 years of age for young men and to 19 years of age for young women. Our friend Elizabeth was at our home last night with her mother. Elizabeth is one of the new 19 year olds going out to serve. She will be in Peru for 18 months. She is a most capable and spiritually gifted young woman who will bless many. By the way, can you guess which one is the daughter and which one is the mother?
Another beautiful vista from the Las Vegas valley. I am grateful for God’s colorful display.
Until recently, it had been many years since I visited the Hoover Dam. It is a masterful achievement, the constuction of which helped Las Vegas survive the dark days of the depression. How often do I fail to appreciate the wonders that are in my “back yard”?
The beauty of the world is seen on many stages. The desert has it’s own special gems to brighten our lives. I am grateful to witness flashes of brilliance in the Las Vegas valley.
We all want to slash away at our “to do” list as we multitask our way through our hectic and noisy days. Yet our souls clamor for peace and serenity. You can’t really multitask your way to quiet and calm. You just have to take time and bring it into your life.
